What we offer

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Procurement, the Materials Planner will be focused on ensuring purchased material availability, based on production schedules and operations needs, for both cabinetry and housing solutions construction throughout the launch phases of the SAMI factories, progressing into full regular production demand. This role leverages MRP automation, predictive analytics and AI-assisted decision tools to coordinate purchasing and incoming logistics activities, ensuring manufacturing operations perform efficiently whilst maintaining optimal inventory control and supply levels.

 

 

What you’ll do

  • Create and maintain automated material requirement plans based on production scheduling and vendor delivery parameters as established by the Commodity Procurement team.
  • Create and release Purchase Orders based on MRP demand.
  • Implement AI-driven tools for PO workflows, PO confirmation and status monitoring, exception detection and delay prediction, acting on delivery delay mitigation plans.
  • Schedule all parts with sufficient lead time to ensure 100% OTD.
  • Optimize purchased component inventory levels, working closely with plant operations on warehousing parameters.
  • Monitor inventory transactions and coordinating cycle count checks with operations teams.
  • Develop stocking strategies to minimize lead time and optimize production flow.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Engineering and Quality teams to support production requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What you bring

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and certifications.
  • 3+ years of experience in material planning, production planning, or purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRO/ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, Oracle, Dynamics, etc. – Odoo a strong plus), including experience configuring automated PO workflows, supplier portals or EDI/API integrations.
  • Experience with AI and automation tools applied to procurement and planning (predictive ETA models, AI copilots, intelligent document processing)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and inventory control methods.
  • Experience with bill of materials (BOM) structures and engineering changes.
  • Strong vendor management, logistics and supply chain risk mitigation skills.
  • Effective communication skills with suppliers, internal customers and management.
  • Proficient in Excel, Office suite.

 

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $57,500 – $87,500. Actual pay may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, competencies, and skills. We recognize that exceptional situations may fall outside this range, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply.
