About the Role

The Operations Analyst supports terminal and field operations by delivering advanced operational reporting, performance analysis, and business intelligence solutions. This role independently analyzes complex, multi-source operational data to identify trends, diagnose root causes, and develop actionable recommendations that support operational decision-making. The Analyst designs and enhances reporting frameworks and collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve operational performance and data visibility.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance reporting frameworks, dashboards, and KPIs, supporting multiple operational areas.
  • Analyze complex operational data sets to identify trends, exceptions, and root causes; develop insights and recommendations for leadership.
  • Independently manage assigned reporting and analytics workstreams, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
  • Advise operations stakeholders on data trends, exception management, and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Translate business needs into reporting requirements, KPI structures, and analytical methodologies.
  • Lead analytical support for cross-functional initiatives, including process improvement efforts and operational enhancements.
  • Design and implement improvements to reporting processes, data structures, and documentation standards.
  • Partner with and contribute to AI initiatives to identify operational improvement opportunities and actively contribute domain expertise in the development and implementation of AI-driven tools that enhance vessel scheduling, cargo flow, performance tracking, and overall workflow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You have these skills:

  • Working knowledge of SQL for basic data extraction and analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and working with large datasets.
  • Experience or familiarity with PowerBI or a similar BI/visualization tool (Tableau, SSRS).
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and how data flows across systems.
  • Exposure to scripting or automation tools (Python, Power Automate, or similar) is a plus but not required.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Experience and drive in identifying and adopting data-driven and AI enabled solutions

And these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in operations analysis, business analysis, data analytics, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams supporting operational initiatives.

Extra credit if you have:

  • Experience in transportation, terminal, logistics, or industrial operations preferred.

The annual salary range is posted for this position in Hawaii. The salary offered will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
