JOB TITLE:  MATAplus Reservationist  
DEPARTMENT: MATAplus  
REPORTS TO: Call Center Supervisor  
PAYRATE: $16.00 hourly  

CLOSING DATE FOR ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS: Until Filled  

JOB FUNCTION:  

Responsible for paratransit service reservations for MATAplus customers in compliance with the fixed-route schedules and ADA.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITIES:  

  1. Answer all MATAplus customer telephone calls and gather all necessary information in order for reservations to be scheduled using Trapeze software.  
  2. Receive calls from passengers by telephone regarding pick-up times, cancellations or rescheduled trips.  
  3. Provide information regarding MATAplus services to customers. Adhere to ADA rules and regulations for telephone hold times and negotiating trips with customers.  
  4. Answer MATAplus Chat and Text line.  
  5. Screen and direct all incoming calls to appropriate departments or individuals.  
  6. Enter applicants into client file and file applications.  
  7. Forward complaints to the appropriate department.  
  8. Maintain and replenish the office supply cabinet.  
  9. Perform general secretarial and clerical duties.  
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education:  

High school diploma or GED.  

Other:  
  1. Minimum six months' work experience dealing with the general public is required.  
  2. Must possess excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette and be able to deal with the public and co-workers, both in person and on the phone, in a professional and courteous manner.  
  3. Must be able to speak, read and understand English and speak in a clear and understandable manner.  
  4. Should be able to operate office equipment including a fax machine, copier, and computer.  
  5. Database experience is preferred.  
  6. Must have computer skills and be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel to enter data and create documents.  
  7. Basic arithmetic skills are necessary for preparing reports. Requires the ability to be organized enough to handle numerous activities at one time.  
  8. Must be detail oriented, organized and able to work with limited supervision.  
Environment:  
  1. Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with some periods of standing.  
  2. Requires ability to withstand exposure to weather conditions, dust, engine, fumes, and extreme noise levels if out on the bus lot.  
  3. May be required to lift. Lift overhead or push 15 lbs.  
  4. Requires ability to hear a telephone and directions given and visually perform essential functions for satisfactory job performance.  
  5. Should be able to view a computer monitor for extended periods of time.  
  6. Requires flexibility of fingers for data entry.  

Miscellaneous:  

Must be willing to work departmental shifts in an operation from 7:30AM – 4:30PM, 7 days a week, including holidays.
