Marvel Marketers is searching for a Director of Human Resources who can take on the HR needs of a fast-growing company in a remote workforce environment. This position will support the company’s vision and mission through leading, directing, and providing insight and best practice guidance on all people functions of the organization:  workforce planning, talent acquisition, talent and performance management, global compensation and benefits, employee relations and engagement, learning and development, policies and compliance.  This position provides an exciting opportunity to adapt and enhance policies and procedures in line with our vision to scale the organization.  

 

This position is the senior HR role requiring relationship building and partnering with the senior management team, sound judgment in all HR-related issues, and the ability to proactively improve HR functions and processes in line with overall company strategy.  The Director will be a highly strategic and accountable leader, experienced in managing change and its impact on people, policies, and systems.  

 

Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Strategic leadership:  

Lead the development and implementation of global people strategy, annual plans, policies, and procedures in alignment with the mission, values, and strategic plan.    This may include developing, auditing, and maintaining the strategy and implementation of the total rewards plan, (i.e. company benefits performance management, compensation), with an emphasis on attracting and retaining the top talent nationwide.

 

Organization partnership: 

Partner with the leadership team to offer advice on wage and salary structure, pay policies, bonuses, compensatory changes, etc.  Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance, including wage and hour laws. Partners with legal & PEO as needed/required.  Collaborate and participate with business leaders and recruiting teams to achieve workforce planning, staffing, and talent requirements proactively.  

 

Functional leadership:  

Oversees the development and implementation of human resource systems, processes, procedures, and tools.  This includes but is not limited to maintaining a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) technology stack for efficient processes and accurate data, identifying and using metrics and analytics to showcase human capital performance, and making a business case for HR programs aligned with business goals and assess HR program performance, build, manage and track against HR budget, develop & execute strategies & tactics to nurture and build strong corporate culture, strong employee relations capabilities, customer- service, communication (written, verbal, and presentation), collaboration, influencing, facilitation, and decision-making skills, building on existing initiatives, enhance a cohesive and robust program that advances management and staff development opportunities.  

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven experience in leading HR functions for a company with 150+ employees
  • 12+ years in HR Management with a full understanding of the objectives and structure of a high-performing HR function
  • 5+ years experience leading a global HR or People Operations function (either in-house or through PEO)
  • Ability to balance genuine empathy and warmth with a poised and professional presence to handle all manner of issues
  • PHR. SPHR or SHRM-CP / SCP certification
