Bulk Plant Supervisor
Description
- Position will organize, assign and utilize company-provided materials to produce scheduled materials according to customer specifications in a safe manner
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Develop a culture of safety on the shift, and within the plant
- Interface with management and maintenance to drive safety related projects to completion
- Supervise associates to coach, motivate and maximize production levels and efficient outputs
- Assure that materials produced meets or exceeds specified quality standards
- Complete all required production, inventory, quality and safety paperwork in a timely manner and efficiently track document status
- Understand, utilize and consistently enforce company policies with all associates
- Maintain current training and functionality on all production duties within the bulk plant
- Manage the shift in such a way to produce first quality salt, safely, on time and to a rate set forth by management
- Ensure shift adherence to Company personnel policies
- Manage shift expectations to align with Company goals and objectives
- Communicate technical or policy changes to the shift in a clear, consistent manner
- Ensure that the appropriate paperwork is completed at the end of each shift, including batch records, cGMP logbooks, and rail car information
- Perform administrative or any other tasks as defined by the Plant Manager, or designee
- Notify management of deviations from process norms and assist with audits as needed
- Accurately report production levels to Management
- Interface with Quality Assurance on the correction of failures against the plant quality system
- Work with maintenance to perform routine, preventative or predictive maintenance on all areas of the plant
- Issue disciplinary policy actions as needed, per company policy
- Track shift attendance
- Recruit, to the extent practical, interview and assist with the training of new employees
- Coach and develop the responsible team to reach the Next Level
- Work with HR and plant management to build a strong, cohesive shift
- High school diploma or GED preferred is associate degree or further training in manufacturing discipline and relevant work experience
- Basic understanding of cGMP and cGDP requirements
- Proven leadership skills and ability to deal with conflict
- Planning/Scheduling attributes helpful
- Forklift certification
- Basic mechanical aptitude/trouble shooting skills
- Ability to lift 55-pound bags of salt
- Ability to climb ladders, and work at on an elevated platform
- Ability to stand/walk for the majority of the shift
- Ability to work in hot, summer environments, and cold, winter environments
- Ability to work around steam, hot liquids, and acidic liquids safely
- Ability to manage shift personnel in a professional manner
