The concrete Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth in large, complex, and competitive markets. This role involves maintaining strong customer relationships, expanding the customer base, and collaborating closely with the Area Manager and/or Sales Manager to optimize market share and profitability. The representative will provide expert guidance to customers on material selection and coordinate with operations and dispatch teams to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and manage quotations, sales reports, expense documentation, and other relevant sales data.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to increase market share and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key concrete buyers to meet their material needs and achieve annual sales targets in volume, pricing, and revenue.
- Contribute to growth strategies by identifying market trends and opportunities and by supporting the Area Manager and/or Sales Manager in long-term planning.
- Collaborate on the annual sales plan by providing market intelligence through customer feedback, industry data, and government project trends.
- Meet or exceed sales objectives, including tonnage, revenue, and pricing to maximize profitability.
- Coordinate with internal teams (dispatch, operations, credit, quality control) to ensure high levels of service and consistent product availability.
- Communicate with plant and operational personnel to ensure customer needs are met and that inventory levels are aligned with demand.
- Work closely with credit personnel on account setup and receivables management.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales/Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of sales experience, ideally within the concrete, construction, or related industries.
- Strong background in sales, negotiation, and customer service.
- Familiarity with pricing models and sales forecasting techniques.
- Solid understanding of concrete and construction materials and their applications.
- Basic knowledge of aggregate production and quality control processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on relationship building.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM software.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet business goals.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness and ability to travel, including overnight stays as required.
