Plant Manager
Description
- Champion the "Guardian Angel" culture by ensuring all employees, contractors, and visitors adhere to MSHA and company safety regulations. Conduct regular safety meetings
- Maintain 100% compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations (air quality, water discharge, and reclamation permits).
- Lead routine site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards, ensuring all mobile and stationary equipment are in safe working condition.
- Oversee the entire production process, including stripping, drilling, blasting, hauling, crushing, screening, and stockpiling.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as tons per hour (TPH), downtime, and yield to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Manage raw material and finished goods inventories to ensure adequate supply for sales forecasts and customer demand.
- Develop and oversee a robust PM program for the plant and mobile equipment to minimize unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
- Plan and execute scheduled maintenance shutdowns, coordinating with internal maintenance teams and external vendors.
- Work closely with the Quality Control department to ensure all aggregate products meet ASTM, DOT, and customer-specific technical requirements.
- Monitor lab results and adjust plant settings in real-time to maintain product gradation.
- Manage the plant’s operating budget, tracking expenses against the annual profit plan and explaining variances.
- Review and approve purchases, manage labor costs, and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising safety or quality.
- Complete accurate daily production, safety, and maintenance reports using company software.
- Train and mentor hourly staff. Conduct performance evaluations and provide continuous feedback to foster professional growth.
- Maintain a positive work environment and handle employee relations issues in accordance with company policy.
- High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience in the Aggregates or Heavy Construction materials industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity, preferred.
- MSHA compliance and regulations

- Knowledgeable of welding, repairs, and maintenance of mobile processing equipment
