Software Engineer

Summary:
The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain modern web applications that support critical business operations and enhance the user experience for both internal and external customers. This role focuses on building scalable, high-quality applications using React, Next.js, Angular, and C#/.NET while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has experience building responsive web applications, developing RESTful APIs, and following modern software engineering best practices. This individual should be comfortable working independently as well as within an Agile development team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering, this position is based in the Raleigh, NC Corporate Office and requires on-site presence five days per week.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain modern web applications using React, Next.js, Angular, and C#/.NET.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs to support front-end and back-end application functionality.
- Build responsive, intuitive, and high-performing user interfaces using modern JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks.
- Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and fellow engineers to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that follows established coding standards and best practices.
- Develop and execute unit tests and support automated testing initiatives to ensure application quality.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues.
- Utilize Git-based source control and participate in pull request reviews and CI/CD development workflows.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by recommending enhancements to development processes, tools, and standards.
- Manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience developing web applications using React, Next.js, Angular, or similar modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience developing applications using C# and .NET/.NET Core.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Experience with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server or other relational databases.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, or other .NET technologies.
- Experience with state management libraries such as RxJS/Signals, NgRx, or Context API.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Knowledge of responsive design principles and web accessibility standards.
- Experience with authentication and authorization technologies (OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWT).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Experience optimizing application performance and scalability.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and separation of concerns.
