Maintenance Scheduler
Description
- Responsible for coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities to meet safety and production expectations.
- Create work orders before work begins and close them out within 24 hours of completion
- Coordinate with teams including maintenance staff and other departments to ensure smooth execution of maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with management to identify and address preventive maintenance requirements for both plant and mobile equipment.
- Maintaining inventory, inclusive of ordering and cataloging parts for on-site equipment.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Company, Local, State, and Federal rules and regulations.
- Contributes to successfully reaching the established production, safety, and environmental objectives and metrics.
- Ability to ensure competent tasks in general maintenance, welding, and electrical are completed to meet safety and production expectations.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Microsoft Office products, JDE, and other software as needed.

This position operates 90% of the time in at our Fort Dodge underground mine and 10% of the time in an office setting at our Alden Shop in Alden, IA.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position that regularly requires Monday – Friday and some weekend work. The average work week is 55 to 60 hours per week.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
- Proven experience in maintenance scheduling or a similar role.
- Knowledge of maintenance processes and health and safety regulations.
- Must be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated.
- Will take an active role in the plant safety initiatives.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Willing to cross-train in different areas of production and general operations.
- Willing to travel to various work locations if the need arises within our Martin Marietta family.
