Lead Technologist, Field Services
Description
The Field Services Lead Technologist provides high-level technical support to identify, prevent, and resolve service interruptions related to plant systems and operations. Support will include installing and troubleshooting computers, printers, routers, switches, wireless devices, and other computer and network hardware.
Requirements
- Troubleshoots issues based on sound judgement, experience, and discretion.
 - Consults with users to help determine software, hardware, and network utilization and requirements, and liaise with corporate resources to enhance technical offerings.
 - Recommends and implements policies and practices to maximize resource utilization.
 - Maintains knowledge of technology and business network developments, trends, and best practices.
 - Deploys, maintains, and troubleshoots core business applications, including application servers, associated hardware, endpoints, and databases.
 - Manages the set-up and configuration of systems.
 - Provides on-call, after-hours, and vacation coverage of Field Tech support.
 - Recommends and implements best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance.
 - Ensures corporate standards are followed.
 - Provides technical expertise to support and maintain the continuity of the organization's computer systems and networks.
 - Identifies and resolves potential issues that could adversely impact end-user experience.
 - Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Education and Experience
- Vocational training or equivalent experience, required. Associate degree, preferred.
 - At least years 4+ years of related experience is required.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Able to work independently with minimal guidance.
 - Excellent time management skills.
 - Proficient with a broad array of networking and systems hardware and software.
 - Familiarity with ITIL methodologies and general IT best practices.
 - Strong troubleshooting skills; proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
 - Outstanding customer service skills.
 - Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
 - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical staff.
 - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
 - Business travel is required, including some overnight.
