Position Summary

 

Responsible for managing the safe loading and unloading of large and overweight pieces. Safe transport of such items required of the position. The ability to rig, climb and properly tie down equipment and materials safely are a major responsibility of the job. Loading and unloading items from appropriate trailers, such as lowboy and flatbed trailers required. Accountability of the safe and timely transportation of such loads will be imperative.  Good inventory management practices are strongly desired.

 

Qualified applicants should possess the following (requirements): 

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • CDL Driver’s License, Class A with air-brake endorsement.
  • 3 + years of experience of Class A CDL hauling of aggregates and asphalt materials. 3 years' experience with oversize/overweight loads preferred.
  • Must be a self-motivated team player with ability to work safely alone and with co-workers.
  • Tanker & Hazmat Endorsements is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to operate a standard transmission.
  • Must have clean Motor Vehicle Record
  • Work is outside in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug/alcohol testing. 
  • Must be self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic and be able to work with minimal supervision and at high level of accountability to operational requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both one on one and in group settings within and outside of the organization
  • Must be willing to travel long distances and work flexible night and weekend hours when required. Willing to work various hours including overtime.
  • Basic Computer skills required. Computer skills for reporting, information transfer, scheduling and mapping are mandatory.

Salary Posting:

We are excited to share the base range for this position is $XX.XX-$XX.XX, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
