What to expect: 
Martin Marietta is seeking a Rock Breaker to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating the rock breaker and performing daily pre and post inspection of equipment and working areas. Additionally, the rock breaker operator will perform other duties necessary for daily operations throughout the plant, such as greasing, shoveling and safely maintaining work areas by ensuring these areas are equipped with adequate berms and roadways. The rock breaker operator will be required to manipulate large rocks, including reducing large rocks into smaller rocks to be moved to the crusher.

Hours: 6:30AM - 5PMandlt; weekends as necessary
 
A typical day for a(n) Rock Breaker may include: 
* Operating the rock breaker within the company guidelines and safety standards
* Breaking down oversized rocks that are too large or too hard to be reduced in size by a crusher
* Completing daily pre and post inspection of working areas and ensures they are equipped with adequate berms and roadways
* Performing pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and reports needed repairs to the supervisor
* Ensuring safe operations around conveyors, surge piles and crushers
* Performing daily preventative maintenance - tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks and all moving parts for proper function
* Maintaining safe traffic flow throughout the site
* Operating other equipment such as loaders and haul trucks in a safe manner as needed
* Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
* Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor
 
You may be a good fit if you: 
* Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
* Have experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile or hydraulic equipment, construction equipment and/or equipment used processing plants
* Have experience in operation and maintenance of a rock breaker or excavator (preferred)
