Martin Marietta is seeking qualified a Haul Truck/Water Truck Driver at our Irwindale, CA plant.  
 

This position will operate a 40 Ton Articulated Haul Truck or equivalent, a 4000-gallon Water Truck, and Street Sweeper at the Irwindale plant. This position will work the 1st shift, with possibilities of weekend work depending on material demands. 

 

  • Safety
  • Perform a daily walk-around equipment inspection, complete required pre and post shift documents, perform SLAM’D (Stop, Look, Analyze, Manage, Disruption) on applicable activities/tasks.
  • Observe all safety precautions and rules specified by federal, state, and company policies.
  • Report unsafe conditions.
  • Report accidents or incidents immediately.
  • Operations
  • Operate articulated haul truck to transport aggregate products on-site as directed.
  • Operate a 4000-gallon Water Truck to maintain dust control.
  • Operate a Street Sweeper to maintain dust control.
  • Grease and fuel equipment operated.
  • Utilize equipment in a manner to maximize productivity, minimize wear, and down time.
  • Work in areas of the plant related to powered haulage or loadout as needed. Duties may include using a shovel or water hose to clear debris from drainages or track out stations.
  • Report mechanical or maintenance issues with equipment and follow red tag non-op safety procedures.  

 

HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

  • Prefer 2 Years prior haul truck experience
  • Prefer high school diploma of general education (GED)
  • Prefer 2 Years prior experience on a Water Truck with Air Brakes
  • Prefer working knowledge of Sweeper equipment operation
  • Flexible schedule
  • Open pit mining operations and aggregate products experience
  • Must be able to carry 50 pounds
  • Class B License Preferred
  • MSHA Trained a plus

Salary Posting:

We are excited to share the base salary rate for this position is $28.00-$30.00. Condition and terms of employment and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
