Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Description
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair
- Weld, cut, fabricate as needed
- Advanced knowledge of engines, drive train, brakes, electrical and hydraulics
- Advanced knowledge of yellow iron preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Additional schooling/certifications a plus
- 3-5 years heavy equipment experience
- A valid CDL (Class A or B) and excellent driving record
- Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Knowledge of Cat ET/SIS, Volvo Prosis needed
- Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deer, and Volvo quarry/construction equipment/diesel engine repairs
- Must provide own hand tools
