JOB SUMMARY 
The Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work to maintain, repair, and improve plant and mobile equipment. This role ensures structural integrity and operational reliability by executing welding tasks on crushers, conveyors, screens, and other heavy machinery components. The Welder fabricates, installs, and modifies metal structures, conducts equipment inspections, and assists with preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. This role also supports preventive maintenance and collaborates with maintenance teams to enhance safety. Collaboration with maintenance teams, supervisors, and vendors is essential to ensure quality workmanship, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across all maintenance activities. 
 
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
Inspect and evaluate plant and mobile equipment to identify safety hazards, defects, or wear requiring repair or welding service; determine appropriate corrective actions. 
Perform welding, fabrication, and repair on structural and mechanical components using FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW processes; fabricates, installs, and modifies guards, liners, and other assemblies. 
Fabricate and install new parts, guards, and structural support as needed. 
Cut, grind, and prepare metal surfaces for welding using oxy-fuel torches and power tools. 
Repair worn or damaged components on crushers, conveyors, screens, and other plant systems. 
Assist with alignment and assembly of plant machinery during rebuilds or installations. 
Support preventive maintenance tasks including lubrication, bolt tightening, and minor mechanical adjustments. 
Follow MSHA safety standards and company policies. 
Maintain detailed maintenance and repair records, ensuring all documentation and quality control reports are completed accurately. 
Use and maintains hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment in safe, working conditions. 
Collaborates with plant leadership and vendors to support major repairs, maintenance projects, and equipment installations. 
Adhere to all company safety policies and participate in plant safety initiatives. 
Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations and maintenance needs. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS 
Education 
Vocational training or equivalent experience 
Work Experience 
1+ years of related experience in Welding, Fabrication, and Maintenance of Aggregate or Heavy Equipment preferred. 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

ADDITIONAL DETAILS 
Physical Requirements 
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for plant maintenance and equipment servicing. 
Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. You must be able to maintain three points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders. 
Strong hand-eye-foot coordination is essential for operating hand/foot controls. You must have good depth perception with or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet. 
Working Conditions 
All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet, dry and dusty.Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.

COMPENSATION
The hiring range for this position is $29.00 -$45.00; exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position.
