Position Summary

Assist the Plant Manager and effectively manage day-to-day activities. Lead and manage all safety efforts at the plant as well as site planning, mine/pit development, quality control, and maintenance functions. Additional responsibilities include asset protection, financial evaluation, budgeting and cost control, regulatory compliance and community relations. Ensure compliance with company mandated safety and environmental policies, programs and guidelines, while providing strong leadership, training, team building and supervision.  

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering (preferably Mining or Civil), Mining Technology or related discipline or equivalent experience required
  • 5 years' aggregates industry experience including prior production management experience at a comparable size operation preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal relations/communication skills and capable of developing and maintaining good relationships with company and regulatory agency personnel
  • Possess a strong personal commitment to safety
  • Able to lead, manage and motivate employees to create ownership of safety, production and quality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; AutoCAD experience a plus

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and possess a strong personal commitment to safety believing all incidents are preventable
  • Solid understanding of aggregate processing and equipment
  • High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust; good judgment
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; strong planning skills

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Manual dexterity and visual ability to operate P.C.
  • Ability to walk over uneven terrain of outside plant locations
  • Ability to climb ladders and steps up to approximately 50 feet high
  • Able to work at heights up to approximately 50 feet on platforms and cat walks
  • Able to work on water - boats, conveyors and dredge
  • Stoop, bend, and squat in order to perform safety inspection functions and utilize files

Salary Posting:

The base salary compensation, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary), will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity. Salary Range Minimum: USD US$95000
Salary Range Maximum: USD US$130000
