Maintenance Tech - Shift (C Crew)

Purpose

The Process Maintenance Technician reports to the Shift Supervisor and will work on rotating shifts.  This person is expected to work with little or no supervision while performing maintenance on equipment necessary for the manufacturing of cement. 

Essential Functions

  • Inspect plant process machinery and provide recommendations for repair
  • Install & repair plant process machinery.
  • Operate equipment such as boom lifts, cranes, forklifts, and other related mobile equipment

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in the maintenance of heavy process machinery, in the cement industry, is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in the English language.
  • Must be able to read & understand operations and maintenance manuals, drawings, and schematics.
  • Must place their personal safety and others safety as no. 1 priority.
  • Must be able to utilize various measuring devices (micrometers, square, level, etc.).
  • Must be able to exhibit competence in shielded arc welding & flame cutting.
  • Must be able to read gauges & keep accurate records of operating procedures and maintenance history.
  • Pass required physical examination and drug screens.
  • Preferred knowledge of all types of equipment used in the manufacturing of cement.
  • Must have knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to repair and rebuild plant equipment with little or no supervision.
  • Knowledgeable of MSHA standards and requirements.
  • Knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibility.

 Physical Requirements

The Maintenance Technician must be able to work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, ice, rain and in high humidity. The technician will also be required to work in all plant environments and will be exposed to vibrating equipment and mechanical and electrical hazards.  The technician must have the ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours).
