Logistics & Supply Chain Associate
Description
- Plan and schedule customer shipments in the TMS by selecting appropriate transportation modes, managing daily and weekly loading schedules, and prioritizing loads to meet service requirements.
- Coordinate with third-party transportation and transloading providers, suppliers, production, and customer support to resolve pickup, delivery, and service issues.
- Maintain accurate transportation, shipment, and inventory movement data across TMS, ERP systems, customer portals, and shipping documents (BOLs, PODs, tracking).
- Monitor transportation performance, assist with freight cost optimization, participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts, and support month-end and procedural updates.
- Assist with shipping, transportation coordination, and documentation accuracy (BOLs, PODs, customer portals), including tracking, tracing, and communication of shipment changes.
- Support daily transloading operations by coordinating inventory flow, monitoring production issues, and ensuring accurate records, documentation, and ERP system updates.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, Logistics, and Accounting to maintain service levels, resolve issues, and support audits, cycle counts, and month-end processes.
- Manage intercompany, tolling, transloading, and third-party inventory activities by monitoring transfers, production completions, and purchase order receipts in the ERP system to maintain accurate perpetual inventory across multiple locations.
- Responsible for all aspects of the supply chain and distribution network that exists between Premier’s mining and manufacturing locations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Business, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in material management / inventory / supply chain / Logistics
- Experience working with railroad providers and rail logistics operations is preferred
- Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and material planning
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with JD Edwards is desirable.
