Summary of Duties, Responsibilities, and Goals     
Responsible for maintaining the service program and minor repairs on the heavy equipment at the aggregate sites, along with other vehicles and equipment related to industry.   This is an entry level up to journeyman position.     
     
Essential Functions     
1.     Repairs and maintenance functions consist of the following:     
A.    Will perform all lube and oil services to the heavy equipment and support equipment.     
B.    Will maintain all records for tracking services, oil samples and work orders and must be able to write legibly.     
C.    Will observe the trucks/vehicles while maintaining them and notify any unsafe conditions immediately.     
D.    Must have a valid drivers license to operate company vehicles between plants to perform services and deliver parts at the outlying plants across the county.      
E.     Ability to perform minor repairs to the trucks such as tightening or replacing bolts, replacing light bulbs and other miscellaneous minor repairs as needed on the trucks.     
F.     Ability to maintain and make minor repairs in regards to the lube equipment.     
     
2.     Knowledge of both OSHA and MSHA regulations and safety orders, including safety precautions on raised truck beds, brakes, highly desired.     
3.     Will maintain good housekeeping with the ability to keep company records and complete work orders on equipment.     
4.     Will perform other duties and assignments as required.    
     
Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills, and Knowledge     
  • Prefer high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean DMV (no more than 1 point on record, no suspensions, failures to appear, etc.)
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 100 lbs
  • Prior construction experience preferred but not required
  • Must be able to write legibly to complete work orders and other required paperwork
  • Must be able to read and comprehend maintenance/service manuals

Physical Environment/Working Conditions     
     
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear and taste or smell.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.     
     
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.  The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.

Salary Posting:

We are excited to share the base range for this position is $25.00-$35.00, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
