Boomi Integration Architect
Description
Position Summary
Martin Marietta is hiring a Boomi Architect (Integration Architect) for an on-site role at its Raleigh headquarters. You'll own the design, standards, and delivery of enterprise integrations on the Boomi platform, and help scale that platform as the company grows through acquisitions.
This is a hands-on technical lead role. You'll set the architectural patterns other developers follow, serve as the senior point of contact for integration work, and either work independently or lead small teams.
What You'll Work On
Our middleware team runs several workstreams, and this role will lead or contribute to them based on team needs:
- Acquisition integrations: bringing newly acquired companies' systems and data onto the enterprise integration platform.
- Legacy integration migration: moving existing integrations, including SSIS packages and legacy ETL/ELT jobs, into Boomi.
- Boomi acceleration: modernizing the platform and leading proofs of concept for new Boomi modules.
- Federation and citizen development: building guardrails, templates, and reusable components that let teams outside central IT build integrations safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and deploy Boomi integrations across ERP, SaaS, and on-premise systems, covering data ingestion, cleansing, business rules, and distribution.
- Define and enforce Boomi development standards: naming conventions, reusable subprocesses, process templates, error handling, and logging patterns.
- Manage Boomi runtime environments (Atoms, Molecules, Atom Queues), deployments, scheduling, and environment extensions.
- Build monitoring, alerting, and reprocessing patterns, and serve as the escalation point for production integration issues.
- Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring to developers; work independently or lead small teams.
- Partner with business, application, and infrastructure teams to gather requirements and translate them into integration designs and technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of integration or middleware development experience, including 3+ years of hands-on Boomi development.
- Proven experience architecting Boomi solutions end to end, including reusable frameworks, shared subprocesses, and standardized error-handling and reprocessing patterns.
- Strong experience with REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, and OAuth 2.0.
- Experience with real-time data engineering using message queues and event-driven architectures (publish/subscribe, guaranteed delivery, retry and dead-letter handling); RabbitMQ or Boomi Event Streams strongly preferred.
- Strong SQL skills, including stored procedures and query tuning, in SQL Server and/or Oracle.
- Experience leading technical work and mentoring developers, with strong communication skills across technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting SSIS packages, especially migrating SSIS workloads to Boomi.
- Extensive T-SQL and PL/SQL experience in SQL Server and Oracle database environments.
- Experience building programs and services with Visual Studio, Microsoft .NET, and C#.
- Experience with Boomi API Management, Boomi Data Flow, or the Platform APIs.
- Experience integrating ERP and SaaS platforms such as SAP, JDE Edwards, Oracle EBS
- Experience with cloud platforms and services, preferably AWS or Snowflake.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Boomi Professional Developer Certification or Boomi Architect Certification preferred.
- Additional Boomi certifications (API Design & Management, Data Hub, Event Streams) are a plus.
