Description

Position Summary

Perform preventative maintenance, light repair, and fueling of trucks, heavy construction equipment, small mobile equipment and asphalt plant equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
  • Operates fuel\lube truck that provides fuel to asphalt and paving operations
  • Performs minor repairs as required to ensure proper working condition of equipment
  • Performs preventative maintenance work on equipment and trucks
  • Performs annual inspections, evaluations and repairs
  • Maintains an accurate schedule and record of equipment and vehicle maintenance logs and reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
  • General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptop computers and diagnostic software
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • General knowledge of heavy equipment operations, systems and components (engines, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic), repair methods and common issue
  • Must be able to obtain or currently possess adequate tools to perform all assigned duties
  • Perform well in a “TEAM” environment
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime and weekends
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbally (English)
  • Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen

 Minimum Education and Experience

  • Must have valid CDL Class B minimum, Class A preferred
  • Must have Tanker and Hazmat Endorsement (or ability obtain endorsement within 30 days) 
  • Minimum 5 years of heavy equipment/on-highway truck maintenance experience and/or CDL driving in a related field that showcases the desired skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Salary Posting:

We are excited to share the base range for this position is $28-$34, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
