Senior Accountant
Description
We are seeking a Senior Accountant based at our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for various aspects of the month-end close process and assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Heavily involved in the month-end close process.
- Preparation and maintenance of monthly accruals and allocations across multiple divisions.
- Preparing various financial statements and schedules for inclusion in the Company’s public filings.
- Responsible for lease accounting of the corporation
- Lead the recording, analysis and reporting of ASC 842 leases including but not limited to:
- Approval of lease additions, disposals and modifications
- Preparation of quarterly lease analytics
- Preparation of lease roll forwards and lease integrity reports
- Preparation of commencement, disposal and modification entries including amortization schedules
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and analysis.
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
- Support of corporate accounting initiatives and projects.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budget and forecasts for select corporate business units.
- Preparation of account reconciliations.
- Evaluating and recommending innovative approaches and procedures that result in process improvements and efficiencies.
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors.
- Assist in maintaining the integrity of the company’s chart of accounts and business unit structure.
- Document and maintain accounting procedures and processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA required.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with CPA/master’s degree.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Must be a self-starter and a quick learner who can work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel; JD Edwards skills desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with an ability to identify and resolve problems both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent people skills across all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational and time management ability.
- Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity.
