What to expect:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Talent Development, serve as a trusted business partner working with HR professionals and subject matter experts from across the business to design and implement appropriate training solutions. Travel to locations across the organizational footprint to deliver training programs to varied audiences and individuals at all levels in the organization. Conduct follow-up evaluations to measure results and assist with modifying programs as needed.
A typical day for a Talent Development Specialist may include:
- Managing and delivering learning programs primarily to frontline and middle management
- Partnering with 3rd party training providers to co-design, implement, and manage learning programs
- Identifying and prioritizing performance gaps, diagnoses root causes, and discusses findings with management. Reaches consensus on solutions
- Managing the building of a training plan that is applicable, expedient and cost-effective. Formulates teaching outline and determines delivery methods
- Managing the process for designing and delivering follow-up activities to ensure transfer of learning by providing performance feedback and formal classroom progress reports
- Supporting the design and implementation of organizational Performance Management Programs, including Performance Reviews and Talent Assessments
- Coaching associate and/or intermediate level trainers
- Helping others improve their job performance, deal with an issue, set goals, or resolve problems
- Working in a collaborative partnership within and outside of the Talent Development group
You may be a good fit if you:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in organizational development, organizational psychology, human resources or related areas of study
- Have 2+ years of training experience, 2 or more in an operations environment, preferred
- Have proven ability to lead by example and build effective relationships with individuals at all levels in the organization
- Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills in addition to outstanding presentation skills
- Hold the ability to work closely with operating divisions throughout the company with a customer service focus/approach
- Are skilled in shaping/influencing perspectives across multiple stakeholder groups to align on enterprise level programs
- Guide others in resolving complex issues in own specialized area and solve complex problems with implications on cross functional business processes and outcomes
- Have knowledge of Performance Management Tools and Processes
- Are able to travel up to 60%
