Position Summary  
This position would be responsible for the safe operation of mining equipment. This is a driller position but this role would be required to perform other mining-related duties as assigned.
 
Position Responsibilities  
  • Responsible for safely operating a downhole drill in the mining process that would require drilling the blast design layout.
  • Operating other equipment periodically will be required; this could include operating haul trucks, loaders, skid loaders, stationary processing plant equipment, and other mining equipment
  • Perform daily inspection of vehicle and equipment
  • Observe visual and auditory signals during vehicle operation
  • Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance (including servicing, greasing, light mechanics) on assigned equipment and refer major defects on equipment to supervisor; requires keeping equipment clean
  • Assist in repairs/maintenance to drill, mobile and stationary equipment
  • Perform other mining/maintenance activities when necessary
 
Position Requirements  
  • Must be safety conscious, dependable, motivated and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a team
  • At least 3 years previous experience in a role with similar responsibilities preferred
  • Weekend work as required
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check
 
Working Conditions   
All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet or dry, and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.

Salary Posting:

We are excited to share the base range for this position is $27.50 - $36.00, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
