Warehouse Supervisor  

Job Purpose:   

The role of the Warehouse Supervisor is to direct receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations. You will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing, and dispatch of a wide variety of clinical related products and temperature controlled shipments.  

Main Duties and Responsibilities  

• Manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies, vision, GDP and safety requirements
• Oversee receiving, warehousing, packing and maintenance operations
• Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
• Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements
• Maintain standards of health, safety, hygiene and security in accordance to company policy
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and transport companies as necessary
• Work collaboratively within our Marken branch network nationally and internationally to continually provide quality service to our clients
• Ensure that systems are used as defined and updated with accurate, complete and timely information
• Ensure that communication within the team and with the branch and network is done in a proper and timely manner to enable other job functions to perform
• Lead, orient, coach and motivate employees
• Produce necessary reports as required
• Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided

Requirements  

• Proven work experience leading a Warehouse/Distribution operation
• Experience with airfreight operations, import/export operations and related regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of IATA regulations, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods (if applicable)
• The ideal candidate has experience working in a GDP environment
• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
• Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to effectively manage staff
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with temperature controlled shipments
