Operations Manager

Job Purpose:

To manage the day-to-day office operations – import, exports, transportation, (both domestic and international) functions. The aim of this position is to ensure all shipments are efficiently processed, recovered and dispatched in time to meet schedules required by the customers. The position includes managing all aspects of operational employees, ranging from their performance to assisting with their personnel files. The position extends to creating workable formal relationships with sub-contractors, handling facilities and maintaining a clear communication line with other departments within the Country offices and departments (Administration, Customer Service both in Country offices) and other international offices.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for both strategic and tactical day-to-day management of the business, overseeing operational logistics, in leading the operational teams.  Ensuring we are delivering excellent service standards on a strategic level, working closely with peers and regional management team to deliver process improvement and operational change. Ensure high quality work through clear leadership and motivating team to deliver high performance and growth. Also assist in developing strategies and tactics for improving operation efficiencies for global harmonization.  The position will report directly to the General Manager.

Requirements

  • 8 years background and work experience in Operations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Budget development and oversight experience
  • Commercially aware
  • Strong analytical, negotiations, strategic planning, resource management and leadership skills.

  • Collaborate with GM to identify opportunities to improve quality, service, compliance, and profitability through the pursuit of efficiency and consistency by identifying and prioritizing problem areas through communication with operational staff and via process mapping, timing studies and self-assessments process analysis methods.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relations with your direct reports, vendors in addition to the Global Network.
  • Act as a lead investigator. Perform root cause analysis, close deviations, and effectiveness checks.
  •  Assist with CAPA completion as a CAPA owner and identify and suggest robust Corrective and Preventative Actions.
  • Define and execute training to improve understanding of and compliance with procedures and quality requirements.
  •  Collaborate with Marken Vendor and Logistics Service Provides to complete investigation and CAPAs.
  • ·Lead and facilitate continuous improvement events with the operational excellence team.
  •  Perform calculation, data collection in support of Marken operations.
