Job Title:                 Security Officer, 24/7

Department:            Ballpark Operations

Reports To:             Manager, Security

Status:                      Part- Time, Nonexempt

 

Primary Objective:   Responsible for providing a visual, reliable security presence to guests and staff at all times. Ensure overall safety and security of the ballpark, parking garage, and other premises.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Create exceptional experiences for guests and staff by providing a helpful security presence at the ballpark at all times
  • Check identification, issue badges and log visitors in and out of the ballpark. Conduct security screening as required
  • Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates
  • Protect participants at an event from overzealous spectators and permit only properly ticketed guests into the T-Mobile Park
  • Monitor and authorize entrance/departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises at all times
  • Prevent unauthorized personnel from entering restricted areas. Answer alarms and investigate disturbances
  • Write incident reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
  • Conduct Merchandise & Equipment Truck escorts into the ballpark with the approved PPE
  • Respond to and assist Team Store staff with potential shoplifters and complete reports
  • Accurately document all notable activities during shift in daily Officer Reports and incident reports
  • Carry out emergency procedures, when necessary, in accordance with the Emergency Response Plan
  • Will perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Equivalent, relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education, if approved by management
  • Prior security experience preferred
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

  • Strong decision-making abilities; approaches suspicious persons or situations according to protocol and contacts local authorities when necessary
  • Must have scheduling flexibility to work, Day Shift, Swing Shift or Overnight Shift; able to work weekdays, weekends, and/or holidays and ability to work alternative shifts
  • Proficient in basic computer functions including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook & TEAMS
  • Willingness and ability to learn building systems
  • Shares and expresses thoughts in a clear and effective manner through verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits effective listening skills and builds positive relationships with all team members, vendors, and guests.  Is diplomatic, tactful and professional in all forms of communication

Physical Activities and Working Conditions (for the Essential Functions):

  • Must be able to climb stairs and walk 4 or more miles each shift
  • Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods of time
  • Medium lifting (20-50lb) may be required on occasion
