Job Title: Security Zone Supervisor
Department: Event Security
Reports To: Event Security Manager
Status: Seasonal, Nonexempt
Directly Supervises: Event Security
Primary Objective: Responsible for managing the day-to-day Event Security operations for our baseball non-baseball events. Lead with a positive attitude and demonstrating a commitment to all Team Members. Schedule all available Team Members for Baseball and Non-Baseball events. Manage and teach the operation while holding employees accountable for delivering the Mariners Way.
Essential Functions:
- Must be available to work baseball and non-baseball events throughout the year, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Hold office hours and attend required meetings.
- Assign staff according to operational need of zone; handle changing staffing needs and call-offs. Assist in any training as directed by the Event Security Department Management
- Observe the Event Security Teams to ensure the protocols, responsibilities, and goals the Event Security Department are being executed at baseball and non-baseball events.
- Survey areas of responsibility during baseball and non-baseball events; observe Team Members at work and provide timely and meaningful performance feedback (Teach, Coach, Mentor)
- Accountable for response to sensitive situations including security issues, injuries, incidents involving alcohol, and unruly guests. Ensure protocols are followed and follow-up is completed according to policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot quickly and efficiently to solve guest issues escalated by Supervisors/Leads/Team Members.
- Inform Manager, Event Security of any guest or Team Member issues that require escalation or visibility from BPO Management or Human Resources.
- Lead briefings with Supervisors/Leads to provide direction for shift briefing including deployments/posts, needs of the event, important topics, and employee communications.
- Review and approve incident reports. Identify trends in reporting and note of needed improvements. Coach and train Team Members as needed.
- Oversee the review process for all direct reports including Team Members and Supervisors/Leads.
- Responsible for all documented-related performance discussions. Will complete documented performance reviews with Supervisor/Leads and partner with Event Security Manager and HR on any needed documented discipline/corrective actions.
- Deliver mid-season performance evaluations of Leads and participate in delivering Team Member evaluations.
- Participate in Scheduling Meetings with Manager, Event Security. Review published schedule and staff availability and ensure proper staffing for baseball and non-baseball events.
- Responsible for reporting scheduling changes to Event Security Manager
- Responsible for monitoring employee attendance and determining further action including discipline and recording.
- Directs Team Members to the correct resource for requests including reasonable accommodation, Leaves of Absence, resignations, retirements, and any other action that is a change in employment status.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience in large facility guest experience/operations, preferably in Major League sports or entertainment.
- Operations management experience preferred.

Physical Activities and Working Conditions (for the Essential Functions):
- Outdoor work environment, subject to fluctuation in temperatures, exposure to the sun and elements.
- Must be able to work afternoon, evening and night games or events, prior to opening of facility to the public and/or through closing of the facility.
- Must stand and/or walk on concrete surfaces including stairs at a moderate or fast pace for duration of a baseball game or event. Must be able to run if needed.
- Must have functional vision.
- Must be able to use communication tools such as two-way radios.
- Must have the ability to use current technology (including, but not limited to handheld devices and incident reporting software).

The anticipated starting pay for this seasonal role is $26.27 per hour.
