JOB TITLE:              Engineering Tech II

 REPORTS TO:         Supervisor or Manager

 GENERAL SUMMARY

Assist Manufacturing Engineers on troubleshooting and implementation of tool proofs in the manufacturing lines. Assist in start-up and run-off of new manufacturing assembly lines (equipment and tooling).

 ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Support manufacturing engineers with issues on their manufacturing lines.
  2. Department goals and objectives concerning cost savings , scrap, etc…
  3. Installation of equipment (new and relocation of existing equipment)
  4. Attend new equipment and tooling run-offs
  5. Support during new program builds
  6. Coordinate shipping of support items to machine builders
  7. Assist in layouts of new and existing manufacturing lines
  8. Perform other duties as assigned

 *Advanced welding skills and ability to read blueprints are required

WORKING CONDITIONS

This work is performed in a general manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The incumbent must:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED.

 

  • Have one to two years vocational technical training or an Associate’s Degree in related discipline with two to five years experience in related area of responsibility.

  • If do not meet above education requirements, must have minimum of six years experience in related area of responsibility.

 

  • Specialized skill training/certification may be required.

 

  • Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.

 

  • Have strong communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.

 

  • Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.

 

  • Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software.
