JOB TITLE:Project Engineer I

 

FLSA STATUS:Exempt

 

GRADE:11

 

REPORTS TO:Supervisor/Manager

 

 

GENERAL SUMMARY

Working under close supervision the Project Engineer 1 is responsible for basic engineering assignments associated with existing products.  Position is responsible for working with the customer in developing a product from the initial development from surface data through the packaging and layout of all components.  Position must be knowledgeable of both customer and internal specifications.

 

 

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Accepts engineering responsibility for all assigned projects.
  2. Layout the initial development based on styling data provided by the customer.
  3. Maintains good communication skills to coordinate activities with other departments, locations, suppliers, and customers.
  4. Submits timely schedules and technical reports in support of projects including preparation for design review and on-going progress meetings.
  5. Assists project programs to achieve project goals and satisfy quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  6. Works with engineering staff members in the development of designs, specifications, modifications, and requirements.
  7. Confirm during development the adherence to both customer and internal specifications.
  8. Complete the various project activities within the established budget and completion dates.
  9. Coordinate the deliverable tracking and schedules with the customer in order to meet their requirements.
  10. Track and update BOMs as required.
  11. Respond to customer documents and release of internal documents.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This work is performed in a general office environment.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The incumbent must:

 

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline and generally zero (0) to one (1) year experience in related field

 

  • Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.

 

  • Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.

 

  • Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software.
