The Opportunity 

We are looking for an accomplished Vice President to join our Internal Audit team as part of our financial services business in Grand Cayman.

The Cayman Islands is home to our global headquarters and where the Maples Group first established operations in the 1960s. Since then we have grown to become one of the largest employers in Cayman, where colleagues from all over the world collaborate to deliver best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide.

As part of our Cayman team you will:

• Conduct the internal audits for the Maples Group Caribbean, North America, Europe, Asia and Middle East offices.
• For each audit, conduct fieldwork, discuss potential findings with auditees and prepare a draft audit report.
• Ensure audit reports identify key risk areas and provide practical recommendations.
• Present audit reports to senior management and audit committees.
• Monitor the risk environment and assess emerging risks.
• Review and develop control matrices.
• Monitor open audit observations.
• Assist with project work in relation to policies and procedures, new systems and operational risk generally.
• Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with management and key stakeholders across the Maples Group.
• Travel: up to 25%

What You Bring 

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

• Hold a professional graduate accountancy qualification with a minimum of 5 years internal audit experience gained in the financial services industry including an understanding of investment funds and structured finance.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Have an eye for detail and have excellent organization skills.
