The Opportunity

We are looking for an accomplished Assistant Vice President - Liquidations to join our Hong Kong team as part of our financial services business in Hong Kong. 

Your primary responsibilities include:   

  • administer a high volume of liquidations under a corporate liquidator, reviewing transaction documents and financial records, attending meetings and preparation of the liquidation documentation;
  • coordinate the client acceptance process and delivering high levels of client service while ensuring that each client relationship is compliant with legal and regulatory requirements as well as internal policies and procedures;
  • Work closely with the Liquidations team based in the Cayman Islands;
  • Liaise with clients based in Asia and colleagues from Maples and Calder Hong Kong and Singapore.

 

What You Bring

In addition to a commitment to delivering superior candidate and stakeholder experiences:  

  • A University graduate with an excellent academic background. An internationally recognized, accounting or legal professional designation would be required i.e. CPA/ACA/ACCA;
  • At least 2-5 years’ financial services experience or 2-5 years’ equivalent experience as a qualified accountant. Relevant experience with professional firm is an asset;
  • Experience in voluntary liquidations and knowledge of the liquidation process will be regarded highly (Hong Kong or other jurisdictions);
  • Experience in liaising with onshore and offshore law firms, government regulators, Registrar of Companies or equivalent is preferable;
  • Knowledge of corporate governance, relevant local laws and regulatory requirements;
  • Able to work independently, have excellent communication skills, superior attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Overtime on short notice will be required.
