The Opportunity
We are looking for an accomplished Vice President to join our Funds Fiduciary team as part of our financial services business in Grand Cayman.
The Cayman Islands is home to our global headquarters and where the Maples Group first established operations in the 1960s. Since then we have grown to become one of the largest employers in Cayman, where colleagues from all over the world collaborate to deliver best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide. As part of our Cayman team you will:
- exercising fiduciary duties, reviewing transaction documents, coordinating the client acceptance process;
- delivering high levels of client service while ensuring that each client relationship is compliant with internal policies and procedures;
- additional duties will involve assisting with the management of junior staff and involvement with ad hoc projects and potentially representing the Maples Group at various industry association events as required;
What You Bring
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:
- a university degree with an excellent academic background;
- an internationally recognised professional designation and at least eight to ten years’ relevant financial services experience;
- must have at least 3-5 years previous fiduciary experience
- strong knowledge of all forms of investment funds and strategies;
- experience in reviewing transaction documents and knowledge of corporate governance, relevant local laws and regulatory requirements is a must;
- an understanding of financial statements
- experience with unit trusts would be an advantage
- experience liaising with lawyers, investment managers, institutional investors, administrators and other transaction parties located in various international jurisdictions is required;
- requisite knowledge to be able to function as an effective director on an investment fund board immediately.

- be a self-starter with the ability to handle a complex and diverse workload
- strong drafting, critical thinking and communication skills
- sound working knowledge of all Windows applications
- experience with relationship management and client service
- excellent time management, prioritization and communication skills, both verbal and written (fluent written and oral English).
The successful candidate must be able to use his/her own initiative, work well under pressure to meet deadlines and be able to maintain confidentiality at all times. The Successful candidate may be required to work extended hours on short notice and occasionally on weekends.
