The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Compliance Analyst to join our MaplesFS Compliance team as part of our financial services business in Singapore. You will be reporting to our Compliance Officer, Singapore.
As part of our commitment to excellence, MaplesFS Compliance are enhancing their focus with a dedicated team in Asia, split across Singapore and Hong Kong. As part of our team, you will be performing the below key duties:
Key Duties
The role of the Senior Compliance Analyst is a varied and wide-ranging role. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- assist to develop and help to roll out the Singapore Compliance monitoring and testing programme, working with the Montreal Risk Assurance team as required;
- work with Business Assurance in the region to support reviews of onboarding, customer due diligence and related-know your customer requirements;
- work with the Compliance Manager/MLRO to understand the regulations and rules governing outsourcing to ensure that the other MaplesFS offices are able to offer support to Singapore;
- identify enhancements to testing scripts, ViClarity references and the overall testing programme, including maintaining ViClarity questions;
- assist with monitoring reviews in accordance with the global Risk Assurance monitoring and testing programme; draft findings and recommendations and liaise with business areas as required;
- track regulatory and Financial Crime[1] changes to update policies and procedures;
- support the roll out of the Global Compliance Strategic programme as required, including working on ad hoc project related initiatives;
- understand MFS’s core systems to ensure that Compliance coverage is effective and efficient;
- develop strong skills in Financial Crime and Prudential regulations;
- learn to become the deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer including undertaking investigations into internal suspicious activity reports;
- learn to undertake transaction monitoring, as may be required for local activity; and
- alongside the wider team, ensure that Financial Crime and other Compliance risks are identified, assessed, monitored and mitigated
What You Bring
In addition to high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:
- Current/previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Experience in Financial Services preferred
- Good communication skills
- 4+/- years, depending on level (more years' experience if no degree)
- Certifications in financial crime and/or regulatory subjects is of benefit
- Knowledge of Singapore and Cayman Islands Financial Crime regulations an advantage
- Competent in Word and Excel
