About the Role
The Business Systems Manager reports to the Senior Vice President – Business Technology and is responsible for a team of business systems analysts that define the business systems strategy for Maples Fiduciary that is aligned with business needs, works with IT resources (i.e. software developers, infrastructure engineers) and external vendors to deliver a portfolio of systems initiatives that embody that strategy; and provides supports for business-specific systems used by Maples Fiduciary. Success will include business benefits like improved operational efficiency, enhanced client service, better access to business information, and more automated and effective controls.
- Business Systems Strategy: working with the senior management of Maples Fiduciary to define a business systems strategy that is aligned with business needs, commitments and goals;
- Business Systems Project Portfolio Management: defining and facilitating the prioritization of a portfolio of systems development and implementation initiatives that embody the business systems strategy;
- Business Systems Project Delivery: ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of the projects within the defined portfolio, and clearly communicating project status on a timely and periodic basis to business stakeholders/sponsors;
- Business Systems Analysis: managing and continually developing the business systems analyst capability for Maples Fiduciary, that includes the performance of functions like: (1) business requirements definition/functional specifications; (2) business process re-engineering, (3) user acceptance testing; (4) system configuration; and (5) user support and training;
- Vendor Management: taking responsibility for properly managing external service providers for Fiduciary Business Systems, and maximization of value realized for our dollar spend - including prudent contracting, adherence to service level agreements, and status tracking and reporting;
- System Release Management: managing internal and external stakeholders, software developers, infrastructure resources and vendors/consultants through the execution of release plans and the reaction to unplanned events.
What You Bring
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:
- will have 10+ years’ of work experience, having achieved experience equivalent to the Manager/Senior Manager-level at a leading consulting firm (Big 4 or MBB), or having led an innovative team of business systems analysts at a financial institution;
- 10+ years’ of hands-on experience as a business systems analyst or equivalent in a relevant industry;
- 5+ years’ of management experience (teams of 5-20 people);
- strong IT project management and delivery experience, with a successful track record of having led a mix of successful systems development, integration and implementation initiatives;
- superior people management skills with the ability to manage a team, clients and stakeholders as well as manage major initiatives;
- strong problem solving, risk-management, change management and communication skills;
- knowledge of relevant system solutions, which may include offerings from vendors like Microsoft Business Central, Dynamics 365, and Viewpoint;
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a leading university in industrial engineering, computer engineering, or management information systems.
