The Opportunity
We are looking for an accomplished Senior Vice President to oversee the Amsterdam office and lead our Netherlands team as part of our international financial services business.
The position reports to the Global Head of Fiduciary, based in Dublin, and is responsible for developing and executing the Netherlands’ strategic plan for MaplesFS. Specifically, the role will include ensuring the office continues to have a class leading technical operational base from which to further expand our service offering in the Netherlands.
As part of the global expansion of the Maples Group’s financial services offering, our Amsterdam office opened its doors in 2015. We have achieved strong year on year growth since with the Maples infrastructure and network supporting us to deliver the best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide alongside our colleagues in legal services.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Oversee the provision of registered office, accounting, director and other operational service lines and actively engage business contacts and networks locally and internationally in order to promote MaplesFS in the Netherlands.
- Act as point for the DNB and other relevant authorities; and as a director on new vehicles in an individual capacity; attend board meetings and fulfil all fiduciary duties as appropriate.
- Analyse deals and identify risk areas and review Business Acceptance Committee requests from the VPs and SVPs prior to submission.
- Raise the profile of MaplesFS and the Maples Group through participation in industry events in the Netherlands and internationally.
- Develop and continuously improve business partnerships with client decision makers, ensuring MaplesFS is viewed as the trusted and preferred service provider – actively seeking feedback and lead efforts to improve client satisfaction.
- Work closely with the Compliance Officer to ensure client files of the office are compliant with MaplesFS procedures and policies.
- Identify and manage risk in respect of service delivery, liaising with Compliance Officer, Regional Head, Group Head of Risk and Compliance as needed.
- Monthly reporting of deal flow and/or revenue against prior year and current budget; ad-hoc reporting as needed.
What You Bring
In addition to a commitment to delivering superior candidate and stakeholder experiences:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related Business/Finance/Economics/Legal discipline coupled with 10+ years’ experience in the Netherlands financial services industry
- In-depth knowledge of corporate services, structured finance, hedge funds, private equity and institutional investment structuring.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and composure when dealing with clients and stakeholders at every level of the organisation.
- Fluency in Dutch & English is required.
- Proactive with excellent organisational skills, possessing strong attention to detail and be able to manage own time effectively.
- Excellent managerial and team leadership skills communicating to and motivating colleagues in the Netherlands and internationally when required.
