The Opportunity
We are looking for an accomplished Vice President to join our Structured Finance Team as part of our financial services business in Jersey. The role will focus on the provision of director and fiduciary services to a portfolio of complex structured finance vehicles, including CLOs, CDOs, preference share issuers and aircraft finance structures, servicing a global client base of arrangers, asset managers and investors. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Taking senior responsibility for a portfolio of structured finance and capital markets vehicles;
- Acting as director on a large number of securitisation and capital markets entities;
- Attend and contribute to meetings of the local management team, as required;
- Developing and continuously improving business partnerships with client decision makers, ensuring MaplesFS is viewed as the trusted and preferred service provider;
- Actively seeking feedback on the effectiveness of service delivery, leading efforts to improve client satisfaction;
- Anticipating client needs well beyond current projects/engagements, adding to the client’s short- term and long-term business results - understanding clients and their operating environment and circumstances, and the strategic issues that may impact them;
- Handling new business enquiries and producing service proposals;
- Onboarding of new clients and successful establishment of structures / services;
- Reviewing and providing fiduciary input on offering memoranda, trust deeds, indentures, intercreditor agreements, liquidity and hedging documentation, and related transaction documents.
- Liaising with arrangers, collateral managers, aircraft lessors, legal counsel, administrators, paying agents and rating agencies concerning the establishment and ongoing management of client structures, as well as acting as a senior point of contact for ongoing issue resolution;
- Ensuring files are compliant with Maples procedures and policies;
- Ensuring all relevant Maples databases are completed and maintained with accurate information in relation to the portfolio of clients;
- Ensuring all annual administration in respect of a client is completed in accordance with the Maples policies and procedures and in a timely manner;
- Developing effective working relations with assigned portfolio of clients and responding promptly and professionally to client requests;
- Managing a team of managers / administrators and being available to team members to assist and advise on more complex and sensitive client matters;
- Demonstrating a commitment to acquiring new capabilities, constantly striving to improve performance;
- Developing strong client relationships and generate additional business opportunities;
- Understanding and communicating knowledgeably and commercially about the firm’s global / extended suite of services and cross sell.
What You Bring
In addition to a commitment to delivering superior candidate and stakeholder experiences:
- 10+ years’ experience in trust, fiduciary or corporate services, with significant exposure to structured finance, securitisation or capital markets products.
- Strong understanding of securitisation structures, cash flow mechanics, priority of payments and transaction lifecycle events (e.g. resets, refinancings, enforcement scenarios)
- Proven experience at director level
- JFSC Table 4 qualification (ideally with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), STEP or ACCA/ACA or other equivalent)
- Ability to work independently & in a team environment
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Methodical approach, strong attention to detail
- Ability to deliver within prescribed deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
