The Opportunity

 

We are looking for an accomplished individual to join as Senior Vice President Head of Funds Fiduciary team as part of our financial services business in Grand Cayman.

 

Your primary responsibilities include: 

 

  • Translate change initiatives from various inter-departmental groups into practical strategies for Funds Fiduciary staff and explain to staff what their role is in implementing change
  • coordinating the client acceptance process, reviewing transaction documents, exercising fiduciary duties;
  • Generate growth strategy and revenue goals with key internal stakeholders
  • delivering (and ensuring that team members are delivering) high levels of client service while ensuring that each client relationship is compliant with internal policies and procedures;
  • Manage the P&L of the business unit;
  • Support and promote the benefits of continuous development and improvement for staff and ensure structure is in place within the team to execute on learning and development initiatives;
  • Demonstrate ability to identify and execute strategic cross-selling opportunities for the entire suite of Maples solutions;
  • Maintain direct client engagements;
  • involvement with ad hoc projects; and
  • representing the Maples Group at various industry association events as required

 

What You Bring

 

In addition to a commitment to delivering superior candidate and stakeholder experiences:

 

  • a university degree with an excellent academic background;
  • an internationally recognised professional designation and at least 15 years’ relevant financial services experience;
  • must have at least ten to fifteen years previous directorship experience;
  • strong knowledge of all forms of investment funds and strategies;
  • experience in reviewing transaction documents and knowledge of corporate governance, relevant local laws and regulatory requirements is a must;
  • an in depth understanding of financial statements;
  • experience with unit trusts and conflict advisory consent services will be an advantage;
  • experience liaising with lawyers, investment managers, institutional investors, administrators and other transaction parties located in various international jurisdictions;
  • requisite knowledge to be able to function as an effective director on an investment fund board immediately;
  • Experience managing a team involved in the provision of fiduciary services.
  • Experience in delivering presentations to internal and external parties

  • be a self-starter with the ability to handle a complex and diverse workload;
  • strong drafting, critical thinking and communication skills;
  • sound working knowledge of all Windows applications;
  • experience with relationship management, client service, staff development and new business development;
  • excellent time management, prioritization and communication skills, both verbal and written (fluent written and oral English).

 

The successful candidate must be able to use his/her own initiative, work well under pressure to meet deadlines and be able to maintain confidentiality at all times. The Successful candidate may be required to travel plus work extended hours on short notice and  on weekends.
