The Opportunity
We are looking for an accomplished Associate Director to join our Fiduciary team as part of our financial services business in Jersey.
As part of the global expansion of the Maples Group’s financial services offering, our Jersey office opened its doors in January 2019. We have achieved significant growth since with the Maples infrastructure and network supporting us to deliver the best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide.
The successful candidate will become an integral part of the Jersey office as we continue to expand, and a major aspect of this role is to help develop the team members in a fast-moving environment.
Key duties:
- Managing a portfolio of client companies, with the support of a team of administrators
- Handling new business enquiries and producing service proposals
- Undertaking the onboarding of new clients and successful establishment of structures / services
- Developing and continuously improving business partnerships with client decision makers, ensuring MaplesFS is viewed as the trusted and preferred service provider - actively seeking feedback on the effectiveness of service delivery, leading efforts to improve client satisfaction
- Anticipating client needs well beyond current projects/engagements, adding to the client’s short- term and long-term business results - understanding clients and their operating environment and circumstances, and the strategic issues that may impact them
- Reviewing transaction documents, providing written comments to parties as appropriate and attending meetings as required
- Liaising with arrangers, investment managers, lawyers and other relevant parties concerning the establishment and ongoing management of client structures, as well as acting as a key point of contact for ongoing issue resolution
- Ensuring files are compliant with Maples procedures and policies
- Ensuring all relevant Maples databases are completed and maintained with accurate information in relation to the portfolio of clients
- Ensuring all annual administration in respect of a client is completed in accordance with the Maples policies and procedures and in a timely manner
- Developing effective working relations with assigned portfolio of clients and responding promptly and professionally to client requests
- Being available to team members to assist and advise on more complex and sensitive client matters
- Demonstrating a commitment to acquiring new capabilities, constantly striving to improve performance
Requirements:
- 8+ years’ relevant trust and company services experience in the financial services industry
- Proven experience at supervisor / manager level
- JFSC Table 4 qualification (ideally with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), STEP or ACCA/ACA or other equivalent)
- Ability to work independently & in a team environment
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Methodical approach, strong attention to detail
- Ability to deliver on tight timescales
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
