The Opportunity
We are looking for an accomplished Assistant Vice President – Fund Accounting to join our Fund Accounting team as part of our financial services business in Hong Kong.
Reporting to the Vice President, the Assistant Vice President – Fund Accounting supports the private equity fund accounting team and register & transfer agency team. Its tactical responsibilities feed one larger objective: ensuring timely and accurate client deliverables and a high level of client service.
Your primary responsibilities include:
Fund Accounting Work
- Being responsible for a portfolio of clients, involving the preparation and review of complex net asset valuations for a portfolio of private equity funds, together with the provision of transfer agency services;
- Involvement in all client related administrative functions and liaison with lawyers, investment managers, prime brokers and other transaction counterparties in various international jurisdictions;
- Involvement in local and global projects for process enhancement and better service delivery;Deliver high levels of client service, ensuring that each relationship is compliant with internal policies and procedures.
Training and Development
- Demonstrating a commitment to acquiring new capabilities, constantly striving to improve performance;
- Proactively seeking out and taking advantage of training and development opportunities
- Developing a continuous learning plan with the consent of the VP and SVP
Risk Management
- Acting in accordance with legal, regulatory and internal risk management requirements, including complying with all MFS policies and procedures and internal guidance notes
- Reporting business issues to the VP or SVP
What You Bring
In addition to a commitment to delivering superior candidate and stakeholder experiences:
- Degree Holder in Accounting with 3-5 years’ Private Equity Fund related experience; Candidates with Big-4 experiences only would also be considered;
- Open-minded, proactive, self-starter and detail-oriented;
- Knowledgeable in fund structure, and relevant local and international laws and regulatory requirements;
- Proficient numerical and analytical skills with ability to collect, organize, and bifurcate complicated information;
- Sound problem solving skills;
- Good articulation of ideas and have structured approach towards execution;
- Ability to work across various internal functions;
- Being savvy in industry-recognised fund administration systems is a plus
