The Opportunity

We are looking for an accomplished Supervisor to join our Client Accounting team as part of our financial services business in Grand Cayman.

The Cayman Islands is home to our global headquarters and where the Maples Group first established operations in the 1960s. Since then we have grown to become one of the largest employers in Cayman, where colleagues from all over the world collaborate to deliver best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide. As part of our Cayman team you will be responsible for:

• Providing accounting, financial reporting and administration services to a variety of financial services clients, including structured finance vehicles, trusts and investment funds.

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

• will have a university degree, preferably in economics, accounting, finance or business administration;
• will have completed or in progress to complete an internationally recognised accounting designation (e.g. CA, CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent). If in progress, Maples Group is able to provide education assistance to support completion;
• have a minimum of 4 years experience in accounting and/or audit in the financial services industry;
• a good understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS;
• experience in a role involving accounting and/or financial statement preparation is preferred.

Key skills for this role are as follows:

• attention to detail, professionalism, excellent organizational skills, and a team-first mentality;
• able to handle a diverse workload;

• sound working knowledge of all Windows applications;
• experience with client service;
• good time management, prioritization and communication skills, both verbal and written;
• overtime will be required and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines is a must.
