The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Corporate Administrator to join our Fiduciary team as part of our financial services business in Jersey.
As part of the global expansion of the Maples Group’s financial services offering, our Jersey office opened its doors in January 2019. We have achieved good growth since with the Maples infrastructure and network supporting us to deliver the best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide alongside our colleagues in legal services.
As part of our Jersey team you will be performing the below listed key duties:
 
Key duties:
  • Undertaking a number of new clients/transactions each year;
  • Managing and administering a portfolio of client companies;
  • Anticipating client needs well beyond current projects/engagements, adding to the client’s short- term and long-term business results - understanding clients and their operating environment and circumstances, and the strategic issues that may impact them;
  • Proactively consulting the client on detected opportunities and problems - ensure that the client, Global Head and team members are informed on key issues;
  • Analysing proposed structures from a new business acceptance perspective, obtaining approvals, where required;
  • Liaising with arrangers, investment managers, lawyers and other relevant parties concerning the setting up of new business as well as acting as a primary point of contact for ongoing issue resolution, escalating to VPs or Group Leaders if necessary;
  • Ensuring files are compliant with MaplesFS procedures and policies;
  • Ensuring all relevant MaplesFS databases are completed and maintained with accurate information in relation to assigned portfolio of clients;
  • Ensuring all annual administration in respect of a client is completed in accordance with the MaplesFS policies and procedures and in a timely manner;
  • Developing effective working relations with assigned portfolio of clients and responding promptly and professionally to client requests;
  • Assessing and advising clients of compliance requirements and obtaining necessary documentation prior to commencing work and in accordance with all internal procedures;
  • If required, liaising with auditors during the audit planning stages and during the course of the annual financial statement audit and deal with any issues that may arise during the course of the audit;
  • Assisting with management of junior team members.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years' relevant administration experience, ideally gained within a financial service environment.
  • Table 5 qualification or currently working towards the same (Trust Company Business)
  • Strong ability to complete tasks in accordance with guidelines/instructions
  • Proficiency in all MSOffice and Microsoft applications
  • Ability to work on his/her own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to deal with different people at different levels within the organisation and outside the organisation (i.e. clients).
