The Opportunity

The company secretary is at the heart of the decision-making process in all corporate enterprises. The role has evolved from being an administrative agent of the Board to being a key stakeholder in the corporate governance process. With high demand amongst employers nationwide, and significant opportunities for career progression, a company secretarial career offers graduates a chance to secure their future while exploring unique experiences within a global financial services industry.

Our Company Secretarial Graduate Programme is a comprehensive two-year journey that provides hands-on experience, in-depth expertise and knowledge sharing, and opportunities for professional and personal growth.

As a participant in our Company Secretarial Graduate Programme, you will have the opportunity to pursue an MSc in Management & Corporate Governance from the University of Ulster, with all tuition fees fully funded by us. You will also receive fully paid study leave for lecture and exam days. Completion of the MSc in Management & Corporate Governance provides access to the professional chartered secretary qualification through the Chartered Governance Institute.

Our company secretarial practice is one of the largest in Ireland, with over 40 full-time corporate governance professionals and support staff providing company secretarial services to the asset management and asset financing industries. Our company secretarial trainees rotate across our three main company secretarial business lines (funds, aviation and corporate) over the course of the programme. These rotations provide exposure to the industries that dominate the company secretarial market in Ireland, offering the most well-rounded exposure possible to modern company secretarial practice.

Mentoring: Our experienced mentors are committed to your success, providing support and answers to all your questions, while offering advice as you navigate your career at the Maples Group.
