The Opportunity

 

We are looking for an accomplished Vice President to join our Liquidations team as part of our financial services business in the Cayman Islands.

 

The Cayman Islands is home to our global headquarters and where the Maples Group first established operations in the 1960s. Since then we have grown to become one of the largest employers in Cayman, where colleagues from all over the world collaborate to deliver best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide.

 

Your primary responsibilities include:

 

  • manage own portfolio of liquidation clients consisting of offshore companies, including investment funds and structured finance vehicles, as well as oversee a team of professionals;
  • review transaction documents and financial records;
  • attend meetings;
  • prepare liquidation documentation;
  • coordinating the client acceptance process and delivering high levels of client service while ensuring that each client relationship is compliant with legal and regulatory requirements as well as internal policies and procedures;
  • involved in ad hoc projects, coaching junior team members and may represent MaplesFS at various industry association events.

 

What You Bring

 

In addition to a commitment to delivering superior candidate and stakeholder experiences: 

 

  • A University graduate with an excellent academic background;
  • excellent academic background and an internationally recognized, accounting or legal professional designation and at least 8 years’ relevant financial services experience with at least 5 years providing voluntary liquidation services;
  • liaising with onshore and offshore law firms, the Registrar of Companies and the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority is required
  • Managerial experience and a detailed knowledge of the Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands voluntary liquidation process
  • A detailed knowledge of the Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands voluntary liquidation process as it applies to companies and partnerships is required;
  • Knowledge of corporate governance, relevant local laws and regulatory requirements is a must
  • Able to work independently, have excellent communication skills, superior attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.   Overtime on short notice will be required.
