The Opportunity
We are looking for an accomplished Specialist to join our Global Entity Services team as part of our financial services business in Grand Cayman.
The Cayman Islands is home to our global headquarters and where the Maples Group first established operations in the 1960s. Since then we have grown to become one of the largest employers in Cayman, where colleagues from all over the world collaborate to deliver best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide. As part of our Cayman team you will:
- prepare financial statements for structured finance vehicles and investment funds
- participate in the development and maintenance of accounting and control systems operation and administrative tasks on behalf of clients and assisting with coaching the team
- review transaction documents and financial records
- prepare complex financial statements within a limited time frame
- attend client meetings
- lead new business proposals
- coordinate the client acceptance process and deliver high levels of client service while ensuring that each client relationship is compliant with internal policies and procedures
- be responsible for the oversight of a team of professionals and the review/sign off of high volumes of financial statements and other client demands within very limited time frame
- be involved in ad hoc projects and may represent MaplesFS at various industry association events
What You Bring
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:
- an excellent academic background and have an internationally recognised accounting or financial industry designation (e.g. CA, CPA, ACCA, CFA, CAIA or equivalent)
- a University degree, preferably in accounting, finance/economics or business administration
- at least 7 years post-qualification experience in the onshore and offshore financial industry with a focus on preparing financial statements for structured finance and investment fund type vehicles as well as previous experience with an investment bank, investment manager, administrator or audit firm.
Key skills or this role are as follows:
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- overtime at short notice will be required and the ability to work in a dynamic environment and meet strict deadlines is a must
