 About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Regional Head of Marketing (Cayman & BVI) is responsible for leading and developing the marketing strategy for the Maples Group's Cayman Islands and BVI law firm offices. Its tactical responsibilities feed one larger objective: to promote and position the Maples Group as the pre-eminent law firm in their key markets. The Regional Head of Marketing will work with senior leadership within practice groups and offices to develop strategy, and then lead a team that converts it to a continuous programme of aligned and innovative marketing activity.

Primary responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and oversee a high performing regional marketing team that proactively delivers initiatives and activities aligned to our strategic priorities
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop marketing strategies that work in tandem with our business development activities to support our business objectives
  • Ensure the use of effective channels of communication for our external and internal communications and other profile-raising activities
  • Ensure we maximise our Group approach in our go-to-market initiatives
  • Champion the collaboration of our marketing specialists regionally and globally, offering technical guidance and support
  • Maximise the use of data generated from the marketing campaigns and feed it into the wider BD&M planning process
  • Work with our in-house Digital & Creative Services team to ensure our content is engaging and impactful
  • Work closely with peers in Europe and Asia to ensure appropriate consistency, best practice, and continuous development in our marketing activities
  • Oversee the regional events team to ensure our events are not only "best-in-class" but also in support of our strategic objectives
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to ensure our approach is tailored and relevant, while remaining differentiated from competitors
  • Champion and promote the importance of marketing across our offices in the region, coaching and guiding individual partners where needed
  • Be recognised as a leader in the discipline across the firm and within the wider M&C and MFS Business Development & Marketing teams
  • Oversight of regional marketing budgets
  • Work directly with senior leadership on sensitive PR and other communication topics
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to develop our brand equity in our key markets
  • Ensure our corporate associations and sponsorships strategy is focused to our wider goals, and that we maximise such opportunities

EXPERIENCE

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following: 

  • A professional qualification in a Business or Marketing related field is preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of professional experience (preferably in professional, B2B or financial services) across all aspects of marketing
  • Credibility and ability to influence across all levels of the organisation, especially senior leadership
  • Prior experience in developing and successfully implementing Marketing strategies with a track record for success within high performance cultures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to develop and sustain professional relationships across disciplines and jurisdictions
  • A broad range of highly developed management skills including a demonstrable ability to lead, motivate and develop individuals and groups of employees
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to effectively manage stakeholders at all levels and deal with sensitive and strategically significant decisions
  • Ability to provide both strategic and operational support when needed
  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to handle a consistent and varied workload is essential
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to effectively manage stakeholders at all levels and deal with sensitive and strategically significant decisions
  • Ability to apply logic and creativity to problem solving, ideally from experience gained in a professional services environment
  • Strong relationship skills and the capability to understand and quickly respond to the needs of senior stakeholders
  • Strong teamwork skills to work alongside and build relationships with the Marketing Team both locally and globally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
  • Demonstrable project management experience, including working within time/budget constraints and deadlines
  • Track record in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters
