About the Role

The Compliance Analyst reports to the Compliance Manager and supports the Compliance Team.  Its tactical responsibilities feed one larger objective: to conduct the daily screening of contacts against global sanctions and criminal and terrorist watchlists, communicate possible matches to offices globally for investigation and maintain and update records of investigations in progress and completed.  Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Investigate possible matches, perform enhanced due diligence and escalate positive matches for further action, as required
  • Propose changes and enhancements to the screening, reporting and investigation process
  • Report to the Compliance Manager on a regular basis summarising any issues experienced or trends identified
  • Deal with other compliance related queries as assigned

EXPERIENCE

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • One year of relevant experience is preferred but not essential
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Flexible and willing to learn, have excellent attention to detail, good team player and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility
  • Knowledge of Hong Kong and Cayman Islands anti-money laundering regulations and legislation would be an asset Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
