About the Role

Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Lead, the Business Improvement Analyst (BIA) will be key in defining and driving business improvement initiatives. For each initiative, this position will partner with the business to determine the problem statement, perform root cause analysis, calculate ROI, identify quick-wins, create, evaluate and recommend a portfolio of solutions, perform process analysis and transition improvements to the business. The successful applicant will identify data and perform operational analysis to inform improvement efforts. The BIA will be working with key stakeholders from all parts of the organisation. Using a combination of strong business understanding, solid analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent interviewing and facilitation techniques, this role will drive business solutions to solve our biggest challenges.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Apply appropriate tools and methodologies to complex business problems while identifying and implementing solutions to drive operational and technology-centric change
  • Partner with the business to identify, size, priortise and scope business improvement opportunities
  • Lead process, data and tool reengineering efforts
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to assess and measure effectiveness of potential solutions. Where quantitative data is not available, apply logical approach for quantifying the problem and solution
  • Prepare and facilitate improvement workshops that support process, operations, data and tool changes
  • Build strong partnerships with team members, including operation team members, business product managers and IT project managers.  Collaborate effectively across matrixed global teams
  • Support the creation or development of standard work, operational metrics, training programs and defined roles and responsibilities across cross functional teams
  • Support one or more assigned value streams or capabilities across Maples Group
  • Map the AS-IS and TO-BE business processes using the standards from BPMN 2.0, acknowledging improvements can be operational or technological driven
  • Collaborate globally with flexibility to work across different time zones depending on project needs
  • Partner with change management team to define change impact assessments, supporting stakeholders' readiness, and ensure smooth and incremental transition to new processes and ways of working
  • Act as a catalyst for change by guiding team through new practices, reinforcing desired behaviors, and helping embed improvement mindset across business units

EXPERIENCE

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related field or the equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Process Analyst, Project Manager or directly working in legal or financial services business operations
  • Experience with BPMN 2.0 or similar process documentation methodology
  • Strong people and communication skills including facilitation and presentation
  • Ability to deliver under timeline pressure and respond to a changing environment and comfortable operating with shifting priorities and evolving business needs
  • Effective leadership skills and proven ability to influence individuals and teams to achieve results
  • Ability to manage stakeholders with multiple conflicting demands on their time
  • Experience working with international, virtual, multi-cultural, multi-disciplined, and high-performing working teams
  • Extensive experience reviewing and examining business processes and systems, modeling and analysing data, organising activities and developing business strategies
  • High level of quality in work products, including detailed documentation, comprehensive analysis and precision in conclusions made
  • Appropriate process training/qualifications preferred (Lean, Six Sigma, Prosci)
  • Experience working in a legal, financial or professional services environment is preferred
