ABOUT THE MAPLES GROUP LEGAL SCHOLARSHIPS

 

Each year Maples Group awards Legal scholarships to appropriately qualified Caymanians to pursue a law degree or postgraduate legal professional course at recognised colleges or universities.

 

A Scholarship will be for an amount of up to US$40,000.00 per academic year throughout the duration of the degree course (normally three years). In appropriate cases, a Scholarship may be awarded for longer than three years.

 

APPLICATION AND ELIGIBILITY

 

Applications for our Legal scholarship are considered annually and open 1 December 2025 for the 2026 academic year.

 

Applications are welcomed from candidates that meet the below criteria:

  • must have Caymanian status
  • should normally be under 30 years old; and
  • must have been offered a place (either conditionally or unconditionally) to read for a degree at a recognised college or university commencing at the start of the relevant academic year. Applicants who have already commenced a relevant degree course are also eligible to apply for funding toward the completion of such degree

 

Please complete the online application and ensure the following documentation is uploaded:

  • Copies of certificates evidencing the candidate's high school passes, degrees, diplomas, etc.
  • Copies of transcripts from high school to date along with the most recent grade report
  • Written evidence of the offered university place (whether conditional or unconditional)
  • The university's prospectus and documents evidencing the cost of the course
  • A recent passport sized photograph or headshot

 

Please note at least two references should be provided, one of whom must be the candidate's school teacher or university tutor.

Fully completed applications must be submitted on or before 28 February 2026.
