About the Role
The Assistant IT Accountant will be responsible with assisting the Head of IT Finance in daily, weekly and monthly tasks relating to the financial expenditure and procurement within IT for the Maples Group. You will use strong analytic and problem-solving skills to assist the IT Financial Management department in continuing to deliver financial clarity to stakeholders, providing the key information to allow them to make informed business decisions. You will be able to interpret financial information, see trends in expenditure and help identify cost savings. In addition, the Assistant IT Accountant will also assist the IT Contracts Manager in keeping the contract repository up to date, administration over the purchase order process, and assist in the growing volume of contracts within Maples.
The Assistant IT Accountant will:
- Raise purchase orders and invoices against departmental budgets prior to approval
- Compile the monthly accruals though conversations with IT Heads of Department and invoice review
- Process and track invoices, working closely with accounts payable to ensure invoices are approved and paid within credit terms
- Involvement in annual budget and forecast cycles
- Involvement in annual and monthly cashflow forecasting
- Fixed asset lifecycle reviews
- Shadow the Head of IT Finance where needed to be able to deputise
- Assist the IT Contracts Manager with contract review, negotiations and take ownership of smaller contract renewals
- Assist the Senior IT Asset Analyst during periods of high demand
EXPERIENCE
What You Bring
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:
- Part qualified or currently studying for ACCA/CIMA or AAT Qualified
- Skilled within Microsoft Excel
- Great numerical and analytical skills
- Experience of the Legal or Professional Services domain.
- Experience working in other finance or procurement roles
- Previous experience of Aderant, Service Now or similar systems
- Interest in IT and Contract Management
